Oct/Nov Four Week Intermediate Wheel Intensive - Tuesday Evenings
Tuesdays 5:30-8:30pm
October 20, 27, Nov 3, 10
$285
This four week wheel class is designed for intermediate potters with prior wheel-throwing experience who are ready to expand their skills and work at a larger scale. Together, we'll focus on throwing bigger, taller forms, joining multiple thrown sections and creating lidded vessels.
Paige Stewart approaches teaching as both a technical and embodied practice. By cultivating presence and refining body mechanics, students will discover that larger work requires greater sensitivity, a slower pace, and a more harmonious relationship with the clay. Through demonstrations, hands-on instruction, and individualized guidance, you'll leave with practical techniques, greater confidence, and a new understanding of what is possible on the wheel.
Instructor: Paige Stewart
Bio: Paige Stewart is a contemporary, ceramic sculpture artist whose work is strongly influenced by her background in Spiritual Psychology. Through sculptural abstraction, primitive modern motifs, and openings she allows people to derive their own meaning and have an opportunity for reflection and healing. She uses clay for its flexibility and fluidity; via throwing, hand building and slab construction, to communicate these ideas, her work is featured in British Vogue, Elle Decor and by AD100 design studios.
**Open Studio is on Mondays from 4-6pm and is a time for students to practice what they are learning in class and have extra studio time to finish any projects. Cost is included in the class price.
Cost includes a 25lb bag of clay, underglazes, glazes and firing fees.
*addidional class can be purchased for $30/bag
